Clustered Fail Over Solution

IT support

The On Line Group is a privately owned group of businesses dedicated to providing Integrated Engineering Solutions throughout the Humber region and the UK.

After 34 years of practice, with a reputation of being the ‘go to address’ for the design and detailing of complex projects in the region, On Line Design has developed far beyond its initial founding goals, and now serves clients UK wide. They offer services to clients for every project, regardless of size, provided they require assistance in order to add value to their business.

In line with good business practice On Line Design & Engineering have always acknowledged that in order to keep ahead of the game, a company needs to use up to date computer technology.

The most recent upgrade involved Care Micro Systems designing and installing a Clustered Fail Over Solution. This consisted of 2 physical servers connected to a storage array using fibre connectors. This solution provides high speed connections for the virtual machines and data. Server Licences can be stacked on the physical machines. This also gives greatest flexibility should one of the physical servers go off-line as the virtual servers can be spun up immediately on the other physical server. A network switch refresh was also included to give a fully stackable 1Gb solution for up to 192 connections.

Care Micro Systems were also responsible for migrating over 200 of our staff to Microsoft’s Office 365 Cloud Solutions and are in the process of ensuring we have a robust Online Backup and Disaster Recovery service in place.

Having used Care Micro Systems for advice and support over many years. They have proved to be a valuable IT Partner to our group of companies.

IT Design and SupportBusiness Support

Leeds Beckett University began with the founding of the Leeds Mechanics Institute in 1824, based in the vibrant city of Leeds, the biggest financial district outside of London, their vision is to be acknowledged for their commitment to student success, innovation and enterprise, global reach, and strong local impact.

The Enterprise and Innovation Hub was created to help students realise their real world dreams and become a business owner whilst still being supported by Leeds Beckett University.  Soon external start up and small established businesses requested the same support and were granted such as the hub expanded to several on-campus spaces and buildings in and around Yorkshire.

Care Micro Systems were introduced to the hub team in 2015 to assist in providing “Internet and Network Connectivity Support” for the business tenants at their on-campus sites and the digital hub office within the Yorkshire Post building, working closely with the IT departments to diagnose issues that were need for their attention.

Over the first year Care Micro Systems were asked to design, supply, implement and support a number new sites, ranging from buildings that could hold 10 businesses to 45 plus business.  Included in this was the Creative Fashion and Textile Hub in Pudsey in conjunction with A W Hainsworth.

When required, Care Micro Systems worked closely with the business tenants to assist with installations of printers and email solutions for the instance they didn’t have an IT company to support their equipment.

Having successfully progressed the working relationship in the first year, Care Micro Systems have been awarded a long term contract to support and improve the IT setup.
